Project Phoenix for iPad Released
Published April 2, 2010 LINKProject Phoenix has finally been fully ported to the iPad, and was approved and released to play with other Apps in the App Store today. You can check out the new, large screenshots here.
In general, the thoughts for success or failure of Apple's iPad seem to be split almost evenly. Most of the tech people we've talked to think it'll be a flop, for traditionally cited reasons - "No keyboard, batter life, LCD instead of E-ink screen". On the other hand, most others are at least intrigued, if not enthusiastic about the new device.
Our opinion is that it'll be a solid success - less massive than the iPhone, but with very good sales nonetheless. It seems that Apple has indeed done what they did with the MP3 player market back when it was just being born - there were a handful of existing devices that weren't very good, and Apple saw the fact that the vast majority of this future market was still untapped, since many people were unwilling to pay premium prices for products with sub-par user experience.
A similar thing, we think, happened with the iPad. Sure, Amazon's Kindle is much better suited to reading books... but that's the only thing it can do, and as much as most people tell themselves that they read, in reality, all they want is some form of portable entertainment, but for most, this isn't reading pure text. Similarly, the navigation and the overall user experience of the Kindle are very cumbersome and awkward, mostly due to a slow CPU and lack of touch screen (the capabilities of which all of us have now been condition to assume in every screen). And this is where the iPad comes in. Sure, it's somewhat worse for pure text reading, but it can do so many other things so well - video, music, games, interactive atlases, and anything that App developers can dream of. The loss, in practice, doesn't matter to most people, but they gain so much more compared to the Kindle.
And this is why, we believe, iPad will be a very successful product overall. Apple has managed to capture yet another market in the bud, and will come to dominate it the same way it now dominates the MP3 player market.
Project Phoenix on an iPad

Sure, it's just scaled up (for now), but this is only the beginning. :)
Our Blog - The Beginning
Published January 28, 2010 LINKAfter fiddling and experimenting with a number of external blogs and systems, we've decided, as true developers, to stick with our own. Why? For a few very simple reasons.
First, anyone who visits can immediately check out our games, player profiles or anything else cool that we might do in the future. Second, having a blog right on our own website, as opposed to an external link, feels far more integrated and sleek. And third, as you may have noticed, we like building things. Everything from the best iPhone games to our own login and user management systems. So why not build a blog, too, while we're at it?
Hopefully you'll enjoy reading this as much as we enjoy sharing things. :)
